By setting out an existing pattern or relational challenges I was able to work through some barriers by distancing myself from the delicate maze of knots in which I was tangled up. The “living map”/constellation exercise brought clarity, comfort and uplift, bringing a new liberating view.

The Organisational Constellation Workshop run by Ingrid and Vivi for our academics, professional staff and students at TD School exposed so many layers of complexity and new ways of framing the structural challenges we face. Such excellent, authentic facilitation that allowed for revelations to occur (without being prescriptive in any way) – and apart from the insight, the workshop was thoroughly enjoyable and bonding for all those lucky enough to attend.

As the leader of a team of specialists and a large hospital department, I was delighted to put forward a teamwork problem I faced regularly at work. The modelling of my scenario was fascinating and revealed problems I had felt but could not articulate until I had been walked through the concerns of each of the key participants in our real problem. The clincher was the revelation of an “impossible” problem. Ingrid and Vivi were a great tag team taking me through the necessary steps to model this scenario and fly me up to a clearer view of the team’s dilemma. It was a privilege to be taken through the issues this way so I can use this clarification to help my team move forward.

Sometimes the answer is not always clear when taking a decision or charting a course of action. As It Is consultants have helped me expand my scope of thought and quality of insight, by providing a level of perspective that is sometimes not immediately evident at first view.

As It Is worked with me to help me design a new organisation structure to meet our rapidly changing business needs. I thought I knew what was needed by analysing the work that needed to be done. But what I had sketched out felt wrong. By going through the mapping exercise it became crystal clear to me what the real issues were and I was able to come up with a much more coherent structure that I have now implemented. I am so glad I went through the process and would recommend them to any CEO wrestling with organisational issues.

To use the systemic work as another corporate decision-making tool was a surprising experience. This methodology, as facilitated by the As It Is team, made us conscious of a series of factors that affect the organisational health, which was not clear before. In my specific case, it also helped to open a more transparent and direct communication channel between myself and my business partner. It is definitely an unique and powerful model for those organisations that allow themselves to try a new way of looking at the business.
